ReLeaf Awarded American Forest Grant for 2015 Planting Season

Once again we are proud to announce that ReLeaf has been awarded grant funding from American Forest. Due to the drought conditions and late delivery of our seedlings we are currently planning our planting days for late Fall 2015. Once we have our delivery dates in place we will announce our 2015 planting dates. Volunteers will be needed to assist in planting native seedlings in the San Bernardino Mountains. To help with the planting of native seedlings, e-mail Cheryl Nagy at cheryl.nagy@gmail.com

Reforestation of the 2003 and 2007 wildfire burned areas is one part of an ongoing forestry program designed to create a viable and sustainable healthy forest system for the future. Please watch our website for more information.

Ten Years and Still Working Recovery

It is hard to believe that it has been ten years since the devastating wildfires that destroyed so many acres across the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California. As we approach Spring 2014 we are planning to celebrate once again the reforestation project we have worked so hard on. Without the work and support of our dedicated volunteers Mountain Communities ReLeaf would not have reached our "Ten Year" Anniversary.

We are currently working with our CALFIRE partners to secure our planting sites for the 2014 planting season. During our 2013 planting season, the Mountain Communities Wildfire ReLeaf volunteers and planting crews planted approx. 25,000 trees across the communities in the San Bernardino Mountains. We look forward to working with all of you again during our current season. As usual we are very cautious of the weather conditions. Planting dates are always subject to change so please register to volunteer so that we can notify you directly if there are any changes.
